From knowing very little of the breed I discovered that Airedales are perfect for my lifestyle. Dave and Kat not only taught me how to care for my dog, but have trained me how to strip the coat to almost show standard.

Having been to major shows such as Crufts, SKC Edinburgh and Driffield, I have seen first hand the superb quality of Airedales they breed. My ‘little Vic’ has now qualified for Crufts for life after winning reserve bitch at SKC just 14 months old.

Just 12 months ago I had never trimmed a dog in my life and now I am able to prepare my Airedale for Crufts thanks to Dave and Kat.

“When I decided to buy a pedigree puppy from a KC registered breeder I researched the Airedale Terrier breed but wanted to 'meet' some adult dogs as well as puppies and interact with them.  There weren't any breeders in my local area so I had to travel some distance.  The first two or three I approached online expected a £250 non refundable deposit just to see puppies 'to deter time wasters'!

Having visited a large scale breeder who kept their many dogs in outside pens I visited a family home in which Dave & Kat Ablard bred puppies from their pets and champion show dogs.  Dave & Kat were very approachable and friendly and were sympathetic to my need to meet and interact with adult dogs.  They also invited me to see their current litter of puppies.  I was not yet committed to this breed but they were patient and answered all my questions.  I really appreciated their honesty and down to earth approach. Dave & Kat are very knowledgeable about the breed and clearly love their dogs.

Once I'd chosen my puppy I was sent regular updates including photographs/videos at each stage of her development.  When I brought my puppy home she was chipped, vaccinated, wormed, part socialised and amazingly slept through the first night in her crate!  This was beyond my expectations.

Dave & Kat also like to keep in touch with their dogs' offspring and offer an excellent 'after sales service'.  It wasn't all plain sailing - puppies are a handful and a big commitment but Dave & Kat were always willing to offer support, advice and reassurance whilst I raised my puppy.  Having said that, they were never pushy.

To sum up Dave and Kat are very professional and have vast expertise as show breeders but their personal touch was just what I needed as a 'rookie' mum.  They made the process so easy and were flexible to meet my needs.  I came away with a book full of useful information as well as puppy food, her favourite toy and a cloth with her mum's scent on it.  She loves going back to visit them for a trim/groom.  In short, I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave & Kat Ablard to anyone seeking to buy an Airedale Terrier puppy.”

“We found Dave and Kat Ablard on the Kennel Club website when we were looking for our Airedale puppy. Our initial contact was made via email and Dave rang me within 15 minutes. He was really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the breed, puppies and general care.

We arranged to visit them to see Sasha (mum) and her five puppies and we were made very welcome by both Dave and Kat. Once we had agreed to purchase our puppy, they kept in touch with us, sending photos and updates as Ava progressed, always offering us information and giving as much advice as we wanted.

 Ava is now 18 months old and we regularly go back to see Kat and Dave and their dogs. Even now, they are only a text or phone call away if we need any advice. We gained, not only, a beautiful Airedale puppy, but also two new friends. ”
